Jiaqi Maria Ma is interested in colour and drama. She likes to document the evolution of the built environment, as well as to explore ancient narrative literature through art.
Ma graduated B.A. with Honors from Wesleyan University, where she majored in Classics and Art Studio. Her senior thesis, ( BEIJING | 北京 ), rebuilt her memory and experience of her hometown Beijing through a series of five paintings.
Originally from Beijing, Ma is currently pursuing a graduate degree in New Haven, CT.
