( BEIJING | 北京 ) is a senior thesis in painting consisting of five paintings in varies sizes, based on my experiences of the the capital city of China.
My painting process is similar to the never-ending development of a city. Buildings and passages are created and erased, changed and layered, compositions and neighborhoods shift and mature. Similarly, my feelings and memories of Beijing have evolved as I am distanced geographically and chronologically.
Initially exhibited in Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery from April 11 to April 16, 2017.
Solo exhibition in the College of East Asian Studies Gallery at Mansfield Freeman Center, September 20 through November 27, 2017.
